Sunday Dinner #2

'Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair'
My contribution to Sunday dinner this week was this long puff-pastry braid filled with carmelized onions, roasted mushrooms, and lentils. I baked it for the first 30 minutes with a cookie sheet ontop to prevent the pastry from puffing-up to much, and then the last 10 minutes free standing. It turned out so pretty and tasty, but now I'm dreaming about what I could put inside the braid next time.
When life gives you lemons, make vegan lemon gelato cups!
Ewa walked in the door with this Sunday dinner dessert in her hands and our mouths dropped to the floor. Aren't they gorgeous? What's better than that is that they are relatively simple to make. She just hollowed out the lemons and filled them with store bought lemon gelato, and then stored them in the freezer until we were ready for our pallet clensing dessert.

I love those lemons, what a great idea! I'm hoping I can do this for my girl's night this Friday.

Those dishes are both awesome! The possibilities are limitless as to what you can stuff into that pastry. I know you'll come up with another fantastic idea!

Me wants! Vegan Vice made a similar looking strudel filled with curry a few posts ago. I was salivating then, and I'm salivating now. Alright, now I've got a dinner idea I need to act on. Thanks.

I had a dessert similar to that once, except even the creamy filling was homemade. It was truly divine.

Impressive! The braid is very cool- the last time I tried to braid bread it kind of fell over and the filling popped out.

You are quite the artiste with that braid and those lemons- fabulous. I've had frozen lemons and frozen peaches filled with sorbet before in resturants, but it never occurred to me to make it at home- brilliant she is your friend, Ewa.
